Adsense is a service run by Google which displays an advertisement about your company on someone else's website whose owner has subscribed to adsense, allowing Google to advertise other websites on a website that allows adsense advertising to run.

The idea is that Google exploit websites related to or which represent vertical markets to the market you're in to place your advertisement on, for example: a website selling toothpaste may run an adsense advert for a company selling soap. You've probably seen these adverts on websites you've stumbled on, but one thing is for certain, you won't see adsense implemented on websites that are doing well, why not you may ask?

Websites that are doing well for their owners don't need to make income through adsense. Google splits the fee they obtain from someone clicking on an adsense advertisement with the owner of the website on which adsense advertising has been implemented.

Have YOU ever clicked on an adsense advertisement, or for that matter, when is the last time you remember seeing adsense advertising? Very few people do click on these adverts, and since it is fully automated, Google have simply invented a licence to print money from the clicks they get.
